mervent forest - explore walk cycle or sail

The Mervent forest covers 5,000 hectares of land,  there are many walks and cycle rides to explore besides the large lake with its waterside cafes.

There are a selection of water sports on the lake including sailing and canoeing.  The lake is also safe for swimming and relaxing on the man made beach.

The forest itself has tourist sites including the Cave of Montford Father an old heritage of a monk whose charisma was worth an expulsion by the authorities to him. There are picturesque views from many vantage points in the forest and also a large dam which is used for supplying
drinking water to the surrounding villages, stopping floods, watering the foods in the summer and also generating electricity to support tourism in the area.  On the outskirts there is a zoo/safari park which
has 500 animals in 5 hectares of land ,a cactus collection and a mini farm.
